Introduction

In a fast-changing world where global issues are reshaping the business landscape, a leading law firm recognizes the need to rapidly adapt and creatively tackle clients’ challenges and opportunities. The firm prides itself on putting clients first and delivering practical legal services while improving and innovating every day.

Challenge

With an increasingly mobile and scattered workforce and a drive to facilitate innovation, The law firm required a mobile-first, bilingual, and robust intranet where all its employees could access information professionally relevant to them. The firm wanted an interactive and collaborative intranet that could provide necessary information such as companywide news and events, financial dashboards, a document management system, and a connection to colleagues via a firm directory.

The Firm also needed to migrate content from its existing intranet to a new intranet and chose Microsoft SharePoint Online as the platform and KL Software Technologies for the implementation of both software and services.

Solution

With many years of experience helping law firms design and implement intranets, KLST understands the needs of a successful legal practice and knows the specific software platforms unique to the legal industry. That experience appealed to Firm’s leadership team, who wanted to be able to integrate their DMS, among other platforms, into their intranet for greater efficiency. Another requirement was the ability to offer a bilingual intranet since the firm spans several provinces and countries.

One Platform Fostering Collaboration and Innovation

KLST successfully implemented an intranet solution architecture using SharePoint Online and Azure App Services. This included leveraging the SharePoint Online Translators for bilingual translation across the intranet and integrating a third-party translator app, which enhances language support and translation capabilities.

KLST also utilized its own software, imDocShare, which lets users seamlessly access their DMS content through their intranet homepage. imDocShare was specifically integrated into Firm’s intranet where the lawyers can manage their documents and assignments – allowing users to organize these efficiently.
